Advantage Group UK and Ireland is delighted to share that Irish manufacturer partners have scored Tesco Ireland as their best-in-class customer for engagement and collaboration.
Fieldwork for the 2022 Advantage Voice of the Supplier Program ran between November 2022 and January 2023, with 680 respondents from over 400 manufacturer businesses taking the chance to provide feedback on their interactions with the leading retailers and wholesalers in Ireland.
In the results, spanning a broad and highly competitive group of 15 retailers and wholesalers, Tesco achieved the highest engagement score as their suppliers provided feedback on their customers.
Ireland’s retailers and wholesalers were measured against 33 competencies across Advantage Report’s four engagement drivers, Partnership, Execution, Reputation and Vision.
With competencies covering all aspects of the interface between customer and supplier, Tesco’s leadership position was consistent across the full breadth of competencies, with strengths recognised by their suppliers in:
- Collaborative business planning
- Having an effective category management process
- Integrating their e-commerce strategy
- Communicating their Environmental, Social and Governance objectives
- Engaging with manufacturers on innovation
