Chief Research Officer Peter Harris will step into the role of CEO, succeeding John McLoughlin, who will transition into a new leadership position.
Advantage Group International (AGI), the leader in business-to-business engagement solutions, announces that AGI CEO John McLoughlin will be promoted to Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors. Peter Harris, AGI’s Chief Research Officer (CRO) since 2021, will be appointed CEO. This leadership transition will officially take effect on January 01, 2025.
Commenting on the changes, John Shanahan, Chairperson of the AGI Board of Directors, said, “During his tenure, John and his team have taken our organization to a completely new level. John’s strategic vision and leadership have been instrumental. His accomplishments span nearly all aspects of our business. We now have a foundation that presents multiple opportunities to deepen and extend our contribution to clients, new business sectors, and Advantagers.”
Since joining AGI in 2006, John McLoughlin has launched Advantage Group Australia, and led the development of markets in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions. John has been CEO since 2020 and successfully navigated significant global challenges during his four-year tenure. Under John’s leadership, AGI exceeded its operational and financial goals and propelled growth in every market.
John reflected on his CEO tenure, “It has been a privilege to lead this organization. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved and grateful for the support I have had from our clients and Advantagers. Our purpose is to help people and organizations work better together, and my greatest satisfaction comes from both the contribution we make to our clients and how we come together as a team. I am excited to continue contributing to AGI in a new capacity and believe this is the right time to pass the torch to ensure the company’s continued success.”
Before becoming AGI’s CRO, Peter Harris was the Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia-Pacific at Vision Critical (now Alida), a Vancouver-based, technology-driven, community-based research platform company. He was also CEO of Potentiate (now Platform One) and was the Managing Director of Colmar Brunton (merged with Kantar in 2020-2021).
As CRO, Peter led the expansion of Advantage Custom Solutions, AGI’s offering for customized engagement solutions. He also championed the use of AI in the company, including launching Advantage Qualitative Artificial Intelligence (AQAI), a tool that helps Advantage Report clients enhance their understanding of business partner feedback.
“I am both excited and honoured to take on the role of CEO in January and look forward to leading this exceptional company with a strong focus on innovation and collaboration. To ensure a seamless transition, I’m working closely with John and engaging with senior leadership to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s needs and priorities. Together, we will develop a strategic plan that aligns with our long-term vision and positions the company for long-term success,” comments Peter.
